Mowing Tips
The following rules apply to all grass types:
- Inspect and sharpen your mower blade monthly.
- Mowing on a regular basis is essential. Do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass leaf blade in any one mowing.
- Alternate your pattern each time you mow.
- Unless an excessive amount of clippings remain on the lawn following mowing (because of infrequent mowing), there is no need to remove clippings by bagging or raking.
We recommend the following mowing heights:

Watering Your Lawn
The key to proper irrigation is to make sure you apply enough water to drench the soil six to eight inches deep. Depending on your irrigation system this usually takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours per zone during the growing season. The frequency of watering depends on your irrigation system, lawn conditions, grass type, etc.
Generally, once a week works as long as you drench it. A better rule of thumb is to turn the timer off and water at the first signs of drought stress. The beginning signs of drought stress are indicated when turf grass becomes dull and bluish-green, the leaf blades fold or roll, and footprints remain after walking over the lawn.
